Description:
From confusing fall asters to hawkweeds and coneflowers,
members of the sunflower or aster family can be very
difficult to identify.
Kent State University Environmental Biology graduate student Chris Poling and wetland scientist Alex Kozak team-up to teach us how to identify plants in the Asteraceae family.
The program begins with a tour of the KSU Herbarium followed by an indoor lecture on the Asteraceae family and concludes with an outdoor visit to one of the prairie restoration sites on the Kent campus.
